F.A.Q. about therapy

What to expect from therapy?

The person-centred approach acknowledges the profound influence of anxiety and depression has on your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, emphasising the creation of a safe and supportive environment for healing. This approach prioritises your autonomy, choice, and control in your therapeutic journey, while also integrating specific interventions and strategies to address the unique challenges of anxiety and depression. It fosters compassion and non-judgement, facilitating the exploration, processing, and resolution of issues related to anxiety and depression.

How therapy works?

Therapy is a collaborative and empowering process that focuses on your unique experiences, self-discovery, and growth. I strive to create a safe and supportive space where you can freely express yourself and explore your unique experiences. As your therapist, my focus is on understanding and accepting you unconditionally, without judgment. I will actively listen to your thoughts, feelings, and concerns, seeking to comprehend your world from your perspective. Through this process, I facilitate your self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-actualisation, empowering you to find your own solutions and make meaningful changes in your life.

First session

In our first session, we will begin by establishing a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship. We will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your goals, and what you hope to gain from the process. I will actively listen to your concerns and provide a non-judgmental space where you can freely express your thoughts and emotions. Together, we will explore your past experiences, current challenges, and any patterns of thinking or behaviour that may be affecting your well-being. This initial session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for me to gain a deeper understanding of your unique circumstances. There is no obligation to book a follow-up session. If you need more time, you can get in touch when you feel ready. Finding the right therapist is important, and I will be inviting you to reflect on that.
